The text reads 'ten years later', 'the streets have grown a second skin', 'of glass and steel', 'and nothing sticks'. a larger panel below is of a pristine modern building in bright blues and white with a pink sky. another grid of text panels and illustrations of blue and green swirls. the text reads 'Perhaps like an old lover', 'it's best to steer clear', 'ignoring the mutation to something', 'I neither recognise', 'nor like'. a large panel underneath shows a single singer surrounded by silhouettes holding phones, with the singer repeated on the screen. another grid of text and illustrations of purple and blue threads. the text reads 'But music tempts me back', 'and I watch', 'appalled', 'and wonder', 'where the goths have flown to.' a final large panel is of large black birds flying over a cloudy sunset.



Bio

Emma Levin’s short stories have appeared in anthologies (e.g. England’s Future History), magazines (e.g. Popshot), online (e.g. Daily Science Fiction) and many, many recycling bins. She is incredibly grateful (and still a little bit surprised) to have been offered a place on the BBC’s ‘Comedy Room’ Writer’s Development Scheme for 2018-19.
